The Marvin Ridge Band Booster organization (MRBB) is an advocate in everything that relates to the band programs of the Marvin Ridge High School and Middle School. At its core responsibility, the booster organization cooperates with the school and its band directors to support the improvement of music education. The organization is also an integral part of raising funds in order to provide financial support to the band programs of Marvin Ridge from managing the band budget and everything else that comes with running a small business that we call The Bands of Marvin Ridge. The Booster Organization also provides encouragement, guidance, emotional support, role modeling and opportunities for positive interaction among parents, teachers and administrators. The band programs of Marvin Ridge are life changing to our students as well as our parents as many lifelong friendships have been formed through the band family. If you are new to Marvin Ridge or are new to our band program, please come to some meetings, come to some marching band contests and support the students. Mission Statement
MRHS Theatre Arts Boosters (TAB) fosters a creative and educational environment in which students, family members, teachers & local community may explore theatre through varied experiences (including plays, musicals, improvisation & theatre camps). TAB grants four merit scholarships each year to graduating seniors intending to pursue theatre arts in college. TAB also offers a wide range of support through membership and fundraising; benefitting the continued growth of the MRHS theatre program, it's students and the community as a whole.
MRHS Theatre Program
The purpose of the MRHS Theatre program is to offer fun, quality learning experiences to all students in acting, directing, playwriting, technical theatre and dramaturgy. This is done through creating, rehearsing, performing, analyzing and critiquing dramatic performances and concepts.
The MRHS Theatre program produces one full-length play each fall, one musical in the spring semester, as well as an evening of one-act plays. The theatre program has participated in the North Carolina Theatre Conference where they have garnered recognition in acting, directing, and design many times. Throughout the year, the school improv troupe, CHECK!, also performs various holiday-themed shows.
The International Thespian Society, troupe 7704, is MRHS's honor society for theatre students. These students meet twice a month and participate in various events like workshops and many volunteer opportunities.
The MRHS Theatre program is very active throughout the year and welcomes any student who may have an interest in theatre.
MRHS Theatre Gives Back
The MRHS Theatre Arts Booster scholarship was established as a way to give a little bit back to those that gave so much to the program during their high school years. It is intended for those who plan to continue studying theatre arts in college.
